Biography:

Zhao Guangjun, a doctor of History, is a full-time researcher at the Institute of Modern China and the Institute of Central Plain Development, a key research institution of Henan University. As a young backbone teacher of Henan Provincial Colleges and Universities, he is also a major member of the "Modern Chinese History" innovation team of Henan University. Meanwhile, he is both the deputy director and deputy editor-in-chief of the editorial department of Journal of Historical Science. As a founding member of Henan Religious and Cultural Research Institute, he is also the deputy secretary general of Taiwan Studies Institute of Henan Province, and a visiting scholar of Ricci Institute for Chinese and Western Culture and History, University of San Francisco, USA (2012). His academic achievements are quite fruitful. He has written four monographs, including On the History of Cultural Exchanges between Fujian and China (co-author, 2015); "Home Country": Fangshan Changshi Family and Modern China (2015); Oral History of Education in Exile in Henan University During the Anti-Japanese War (2017). In addition, he has published more than 40 academic papers in Guangming Daily, People's Daily, Historiography Bimonthly, Social Sciences in Guangdong, Journal of Historical Science, Studies on Religion Teaching, etc. Meanwhile, he has presided over two projects sponsored by National Social Science Fund, namely, "Research on Christianity and the New Knowledge Groups in China in the 19th Century" (2010) and "Research on the Church Land in Modern China" (2019). Besides, he has also presided over the sub project "Reading History of the New Youth" of the project "Collation and Research on Centennial History of the May 4th Movement", which is a major bidding project of the National Social Science Fund. Furthermore, he has participated in more than 10 projects such as "General History of Chinese Thought" supported by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He has shown strong research interests in cultural history, social history, regional history, historical theory and oral history.
