Miriam Brown of Tri County Community Action Program reported that the old Ashland elementary school
was transferred to her agency on June 24. TCCAP is again applying, through the town, for a $500,000
Community Development Block Grant to rehabilitate the building to house Headstart and other community
service programs. At her request, the selectmen corrected a previous vote giving Brown authority to sign
CDBG documents for the town, as that task should be assigned to a town official. So, the selectmen
authorized Correia to sign on behalf of the town. Brown reported that work on the site would begin the
next day with the construction of a sidewalk allowing students to bypass the parking lot and driveway
TCCAP will be building.
